HALLMARK has completed the installation and commissioning of an automatic MDF packaging line at a customer’s factory in Thailand. The line is now operating steadily, and the customer has expressed satisfaction with its performance to date.
The project was configured around two specific customer requirements: steel strapping and additional side protection panels. It handles MDF panels measuring 1830 mm wide and 2440 mm, 3050 mm or 3660 mm long, with stack heights ranging from 700 to 1200 mm.

For this project, the customer specified steel strapping together with side protection panels for the MDF stacks. HALLMARK incorporated these requirements into the packaging line configuration.
The specified steel strapping is 16 mm wide and 0.5–0.6 mm thick. The packaging configuration also includes 4.5 mm side protection panels, top and bottom protection panels, corrugated paper corner protection, wooden skids and wrapping film.
These details are an important part of planning a panel packaging line. Stack dimensions, protective materials and the strapping arrangement all need to be considered alongside the required packaging capacity.

| Item | Parameters |
| Product | MDF panels |
| Panel width | 1830 mm |
| Panel length | 2440 / 3050 / 3660 mm |
| Panel stack height | 700–1200 mm |
| Specified packaging capacity | 12 stacks/hour, based on the project’s 4+8 steel strapping arrangement |
| Corner protection dimensions | 150 × 150 × 4 mm, corrugated paper |
| Steel strapping dimensions | 16 mm wide × 0.5–0.6 mm thick |
| Wooden skid dimensions | 66 × 70 × 1830 mm |
| Wrapping film specification | 500 × (0.017–0.023) mm |
| Top protection panel thickness | 4.5–9 mm; 15–18 mm |
| Bottom protection panel thickness | 15–19 mm |
| Side protection panel thickness | 4.5 mm |
The specified capacity relates to the packaging arrangement listed above. Capacity for a different stack size or strapping pattern should be assessed separately.
With installation and commissioning complete, the packaging line is now in operation at the Thailand factory. The project brings the customer’s steel strapping and side protection requirements together in an automatic MDF packaging solution.
For manufacturers considering a similar installation, defining the finished package is a useful starting point. The required stack dimensions, protection materials and strapping pattern provide the basis for selecting equipment and planning the line layout.
If your factory needs an MDF packaging line with steel strapping or additional panel protection, send HALLMARK your panel dimensions, stack height and weight, target packaging capacity, and preferred strapping arrangement. A factory layout and photos of your current finished packages will also help us understand your requirements.

This line is configured for MDF panels measuring 1830 mm wide and 2440 mm, 3050 mm or 3660 mm long. The specified stack height is 700–1200 mm. Requirements outside these dimensions should be reviewed separately.
The specified capacity is 12 stacks per hour with the project’s 4+8 steel strapping arrangement. This figure applies to the specified configuration and should not be treated as the capacity for every packaging format.
The project specifies 4.5 mm side protection panels, top and bottom protection panels, corrugated paper corner protection, wooden skids and wrapping film. These materials form part of the customer’s required packaging configuration.
HALLMARK can review alternative panel sizes, stack heights, strapping requirements and protection materials during project planning. The proposed configuration needs to be checked against the required output and available factory space.
Please provide your panel dimensions, minimum and maximum stack heights, maximum stack weight, target capacity and required strapping pattern. Photos of your finished packages and a factory layout will help us assess the protection requirements and available space.
